Portfolio Calculate — free dividend portfolio backtester & income tracker
Portfolio Calculate is a free website that lets you build a stock and ETF portfolio by real share count and instantly see its dividend income, yield, and how it would have performed against the S&P 500 over 15 years of real market history. There is no signup, no account, and nothing to install — everything stays in your browser.
What you can do
- Build by real shares — add any US stock or ETF by the number of shares you actually own.
- Track dividend income — annual and monthly dividend income, plus your portfolio yield.
- See company detail — sector, market cap, P/E, payout ratio, beta, and dividend-growth streak.
- Backtest against the S&P 500 — replay your portfolio over 15 years of real prices and dividends.
- Model real behaviour — dividend reinvestment (DRIP), monthly contributions or withdrawals, and rebalancing.
- Organise and compare — group holdings, keep multiple portfolios, and compare them side by side.
How it works
You enter the holdings you actually own by share count. Market data comes from Yahoo Finance (end-of-day, delayed about 24 hours), and you can type in a live price to override any holding. Yields and income are computed from real dividend history, and the backtester uses real monthly closing prices and actual dividend payments — so the drawdowns and worst years reflect what really happened, not smoothed averages.
Frequently asked questions
Is Portfolio Calculate free?
Yes — it is completely free to use, with no signup or account.
Is it financial advice?
No. Portfolio Calculate is an educational and informational tool only. It is not investment, financial, tax, or legal advice, and it does not recommend buying or selling any security. Always consult a licensed professional before making investment decisions.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your portfolios are stored only in your own browser and are never uploaded or shared.
How accurate is the backtest?
It uses real monthly closing prices and actual dividend payments, with optional reinvestment, contributions, and rebalancing. Treat results as a faithful approximation of the past, not a forecast.
